Short version: Duitora's calculators run entirely in your browser. We never see the numbers you enter — your income, home price, or down payment are never sent to our servers. We do use Google Analytics to understand site traffic, and Google AdSense to serve ads.
What we collect
Duitora collects two categories of data:
- Usage data via Google Analytics 4 — pages visited, time on site, general location (country/region), device type, and browser. This data is anonymized and aggregated. We use it to understand which features are useful and to improve the site.
- Ad data via Google AdSense — Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing history. This is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours.
We do not collect names, email addresses, financial data you enter into calculators, or any other personally identifiable information.
Your calculator inputs
All calculations run locally in your browser using JavaScript. When you enter a home price, income, or mortgage rate, that data never leaves your device — it is not transmitted to Duitora or any third party. URL parameters (used to let you share a scenario via link) are stored in the URL itself and are not logged by our servers.
Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Google Analytics — sets cookies to track sessions and distinguish users anonymously (e.g.,
_ga,_gid). - Google AdSense — may set cookies to personalize ads based on your browsing activity across sites.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies will not affect calculator functionality.
Third-party services
Duitora uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics — usage tracking
- Google AdSense — advertising
- FRED (St. Louis Fed) — US interest rate data, fetched client-side
- Bank of Canada Valet API — Canadian rate data, fetched client-side
Data retention
Duitora does not store any user data on its own servers. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings (26 months by default). We have no control over data retained by Google AdSense.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws, including the right to access, delete, or opt out of the sale of your data. Because Duitora does not collect or store personal data directly, most of these rights apply to Google's data practices rather than ours.
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. To manage ad personalization, visit Google Ad Settings.
Children's privacy
Duitora is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
